Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
GIS technology has become an essential tool for any planning or decision making that involves geographic data.  Although we specialize in environmental uses of GIS, our capabilities extend to any GIS application that requires data collection and conversion, database creation, mapping, data modeling and analysis, and custom interface design and development.  We have the equipment and knowledge to handle your GIS needs.
The Trimble Navigation GeoXT and GeoXH units are hand held 12 channel Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. These GPS field computer can deliver down to 10 cm (i.e. 4 inch) accuracy and are equipped with, TerraSync & Pathfinder Office.

All field data is downloaded, processed and plotted using ESRI's ArcGIS suite of software.

The TruPulse 360B has been added to our GIS equipment inventory.  The compass-enabled laser rangefinder enables our technicans to mark multiple items from a single point and/or avoid disturbing nests by remotely marking their location.  This techology has improved both mapping efficiency and productivity.
GIS technology supports a range of projects including environmental studies, emergency services and asset management. Our list of GIS projects has been growing steadily. The vast majority of our work comes from repeat business and referrals.  We strive to high-quality GIS documents and and services in a timely manner at a reasonable cost.  We take special care to ensure that every map we produce is attractive, readable, and clearly conveys the desired information.
Keitu’s staff has the technical skills and professional experience needed to translate environmental study objectives into GIS form.  Collectively, we have experience using GIS technology in a wide range of applications.  We submitted the first pipeline permit application to the North Dakota Public Service Commission documented exclusively with GIS data.
We specialize in pipeline permitting, botany surveys, wetlands delineation and asset management.  These projects involve the integration of many GIS data layers, including botany data, stream channel locations, riparian vegetation, forest roads, land use and land cover, geology, soil data, proposed and as built asset locations, and layers derived from digital terrain models.

We provide the tools that allow you to see relationships, patterns, or trends intuitively that are not possible to see with traditional charts, graphs, and spreadsheets.  We can analyze consumer demographics and the locations of competitors in relation to potential locations of a new business. We can help you visualize potential locations on a map along with drive-time analysis, environmental concerns such as wetlands or protected species that might hinder construction, or any number of siting criteria that would be too cumbersome to comprehend otherwise.
